BELGIUM did it again!
Time for thoughts…..
Surely the first feeling that accompanies me since yesterday is being honored.
Honored to have been part, as Team Captain of this wonderful team for the past two years.
IWT 2021, Hungary, Belgium 2nd place (Stef Bollen, Kristie Deckers, Fons Exelmans), 2 points less than the winner.
IWT 2022, Austria, Belgium 1st place (Kristie Deckers, Fons Exelmans, Pieter Vivijs), 25 points more than the second placed.
IWT 2023, Sweden, Belgium 2nd place (Kristie Deckers, Fons Exelmans, Pieter Vivijs), 2 points less than the winner.
What a Team!
I'm not a very good encyclopedia but I can say with some certainty that the consistency of this team is absolutely unique and second to none.
These people have shown to the Retrievers’ world that a good dog and a good handler can win WT as well as trials.
Fons and Pieter are always a guarantee!! They never leave anything to chance, always focused, they are an example of handling to aspire to.
Fons was 4 times part of the Belgian Team who won the Coupe D’Europe and 3 times part of the Belgian Team on the IWT podium.
Pieter was once part of the Belgian Team who won the Coupe d’Europe, twice second at the ICC and twice part of the Belgian Team on the IWT podium
Kristie, I’m so proud of you ! You’re the “newcomer” of the team , but what a great job you did with your dog, your first dog ever! Made him Int Ft Ch. , won an IWT and being second twice.
What a start ! What a star !
